Philip Olson

Philip Olson is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Philosophy Department and the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Virginia Tech. His current research interests center on rationality theory, contemporary virtue theory (in both ethics and epistemology), and American pragmatism (especially the work of John Dewey). Dr. Olson received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Emory University in 2007. Dr. Olson has taught courses in ethics, metaphysics and epistemology, philosophy of religion, and in the Humanities. His other philosophical interests include moral philosophy, theory of valuation, philosophy of education, and matters pertaining to naturalism and normativity.
